The track at Musselburgh was frozen on 2nd December 2019, meaning organisers had no choice but to abandon the meeting. Racing goes ahead at Plumpton and on the all weather at Wolverhamption on 2 December.
Southwell racecourse is having it’s first race meeting under floodlights this evening (Thursday 14 March 2019) after a delayed new installation of lights at the track. Four meetings which should already have taken place were moved because of cabling issues which led to a delay testing the new lights. Racing will start at 5.55pm.
Racing at Fakenham was delayed on Monday 4th March 2019, after a racegoer was taken ill on the course, before the 2.40 event. Owing to three confirmed cases of equine influenza in “vaccinated horses” in training, all of the UK meetings which had been due to take place on Thursday 7 February 2019 have been abandoned, which are meetings at Huntingdon, Doncaster, Ffos Las and Chelmsford City. The Irish meeting at Thurles is set to go ahead.
The National Hunt meetings which had been due to take place on Thursday 31 January 2019 at Fakenham and Wincanton have both been abandoned as a result of the freezing conditions. All Weather racing at Southwell and Newcastle (Evening) are currently expected to go ahead.

The National Hunt race meeting at Lingfield Park which had been due to take place on Tuesday 29 January 2019 has been abandoned owing to the wintry weather. Meetings at Down Royal (IRE), Newcastle and Wolverhampton currently have all passed any inspections and are expected to go ahead as planned.
The runners for Grand National 2019 are yet to be specifically confirmed, but, as of 30 January 2019, it is certain that the 2019 National winner will come from the list of 112 entries, below. The deadline for entries was 29 Jan.
