Racing Tips for Tuesday 29 May 2018

There’s UK and Irish racing on Tuesday 29 May 2018, with meetings taking place in the afternoon at Lingfield, Leicester and Redcar and in the evening at Gowran Park, Ballinrobe, Brighton and Wolverhampton.

All of the racing is flat, except the Ballinrobe card.

Below are six of the best chances based on our ratings from today’s racing.

Today’s Tips – Quick Links

Leicester 2.20

In the second race at Leicester, we like the look of BAKHT A RAWAN (IRE) who on our ratings has a good chance to get a win against today’s opposition. Wasn’t quite as good at Chester last time as had been on seasonal reappearance the time before, but this course may suit better, as it was the scene of a victory on the only previous appearance.

Gowran Park 5.15

In the 5.15 at Gowran Park we select SORELLE DELLE ROSE (IRE), the likely favourite, as a strong chance in what looks a race without much depth.

Ballinrobe 6.30

In the 6.30 Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe, the selection is an each-way move, on COLLA PIER (IRE). This one had been chasing for a while, but never really put in a performance which matched previous hurdles efforts. Hasn’t run since July 2017, so is entitled to need the run – hence a decent price and an each-way recommendation – but has the talent to lift this one if stripping fit on this return.

Ballinrobe 7.00

Another each-way choice in OUR POCKET ROCKET (IRE) in another big field handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe. If this one can recapture the form shown at Tramore on last season’s final run, then will be sure to make the frame here, but has yet to produce anything like as good in two runs to date this season. Good enough, if on a going day today.

Brighton 7.20

ARCHIMENTO (GB) is the selection in the 7.20 at Brighton based on good recent performances on course of late. The penultimate start was a little better than last time out, which may have come a bit too soon. Has had a little more recovery time now. Fancied.

Ballinrobe 8.00 NAP

The nap for Tuesday is likely to be a really good long price too, BAILY MOON (IRE) runs in the almost 3 mile 8.00 handicap chase. Has had a couple of runs to get the fitness going, one of which first time out was on very heavy going, and can be expected based on previous seasons to improve again from a last time out fifth place. Today’s conditions look just right, and therefore this one is a solid each way chance at an early price of 25/1. Look at bookmakers offering more places or enhanced each-way terms. This one has the talent and, it is likely, the fitness to at least make the frame tonight.
