Top 4 Tips – Naps for Thursday

Course Time Our Tip Race Type Dist
MARKET RASEN 12:40 PM PHOENICIANA (GB) National Hunt Hurdle Handicap 2m4f139y
MARKET RASEN 2:10 PM COPPERFACEJACK (IRE) National Hunt Chase Handicap 2m7f191y
WINCANTON 3:10 PM DALAMAN (IRE) National Hunt Hurdle Handicap 1m7f65y
THURLES 1:35 PM FLORAMAR (IRE) National Hunt Hurdle 2m6f171y

Our top tip for Thursday is PHOENICIANA which runs in the 12.40 Handicap Hurdle event at Market Rasen over an extended two and a half miles. This Lucy Wadham trained mare will be ridden by usual partner Leighton Aspell today, at a price of around 5/1.

After returning from around 9 months off the track, was entitled to be a bit rusty three weeks ago on a so-so return to action at Uttoxeter. Fitter for that, we really like the marker this one put down on heavy going at Lingfield in January. Today’s distance needs to be taken on trust, but the going will not be a problem, and should make the frame today.

Our next best for Thursday is COPPERFACEJACK, also at Market Rasen, in the 2.10 Handicap Chase over just shy of three miles. Paul Webber’s 7 year old gelding is bidding to makeit a hat-trick of wins under Gavin Sheehan. Expected to go off favourite at a shade over 2/1, but for good reason: is the form pick of the race. Watch out for Ben Haslam’s inconsistent The Doorman, who has the ability to take this on a going day, but puts his worst foot forward more often than not.
