Gordon Elliot made it two from two in the opening races at Punchestown on the afternoon of Thursday 19 October 2017, as Samcro, showed an impressive hurdling debut performance to make it four wins from four under rules (he also won his sold P2P start too), under Jack Kennedy.

2m, Yielding to Soft

  1. Samcro 1/5F
  2. Mind’s Eye 8/1
  3. Jack Dillinger 6/1

Our Punchestown tip for this race was the Ruby Walsh mount, Jack Dillinger, which was not classy enough to stay with the winner, but was produced at the right time by Walsh, before finding two too good. Likes the going a bit easier, but in truth this winner looks a cut above. Watch Samcro for the Festival 2018 (and beyond).
