Vicente withdrawn from 2018 Grand National

After the earlier withdrawal of Minella Rocco, trainer Paul Nicholls has confirmed that VICENTE (FR) will not be running in Saturday’s 2018 Grand National as the going on the National course is currently Heavy (Soft in places).

This means that DELUSIONOFGRANDEUR (IRE) will now line up in the world’s biggest steeplechase on Saturday instead, having been Reserve 2. This Sue Smith trained 10 year old gelding will now wear the number 12 vacated by Vicente.

This news comes after the earlier withdrawal of Minella Rocco put Reserve 1 Thunder and Roses into the race.
